Chris Fiebrich

I am the Associate Director of the Oklahoma Climatological Survey and Executive Director of the Oklahoma Mesonet at the University of Oklahoma. I am also Adjunct Faculty with the School of Meteorology at OU. My areas of expertise are in mesoscale meteorology and climatology, meteorological instrumentation, and applied meteorology and climatology.

The Oklahoma Mesonet

I have held the position of Manager of the Oklahoma Mesonet since 2001. The Mesonet is a unique environmental monitoring network of 121 stations across Oklahoma. We provide data and training to emergency managers, fire managers, growers, producers, and the K-12 community across Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Climatological Survey

Since 2010, I have been the Associate Director of the Oklahoma Climatological Survey, one of the largest Surveys in the nation. The Survey’s mission includes the acquisition and dissemination of all climate and weather information of value to policy and decision makers in the state, and to act as the representative of the state in all climatological and meteorological matters.
